Still, the insane archival footage of the infernos as they happened makes for an occasionally arresting viewing experience. “Bring Your Own Brigade” uses a handful of people whose lives were touched by the fires as entry points into the crisis, beginning with Brad Weldon, a man in Paradise that warded the engulfing flames off his home with hoses and buckets, all the while protecting his 90-year-old disabled mother....

The “Palo Alto” filmmaker is directing and producing “superfans: screaming. crying. throwing up.,” which is now in production from XTR and Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan’s Aggregate in association with Coppola’s Detour, the companies announced on Monday. As the film’s title suggests, “superfans” focuses on the most devoted fans of bands like New Edition, New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, One Direction, and BTS, who helped turn musical acts into multi-billion dollar franchises....

Over 8,000 have already signed a change.org petition to “Save The Cinerama Dome.” By “save,” the petitioners want the Dome to continue its service as a landmark location for premier exhibition. Now that Arclight Theaters has declined to continue in that role, making that happen will require an exhibitor who shares that appetite in a fractured and uncertain business environment. However, there’s also the other kind of “save.” High-rises are going up all over Hollywood; could a developer bulldoze the historic dome to make way for more luxury condos?...

The layoffs, announced on Tuesday, heavily affected the animation division of the company. As laid out in a memo sent by Television Group chief Channing Dungey, the three studios the animation division consists of — Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios, and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe — will remain intact. While Hanna-Barbera will operate independently due to geographical distance, Cartoon Network Studios and Warner Bros. Animation will merge their development and production teams....

“They said to me, ‘We’re going to be shooting in 2023’,” Cox told NME. “I said, ‘Great, when?’ They said, ‘All 2023’. I start shooting in February and finish in December.” The 18-episode count for “Born Again’s” first season makes it the longest Disney+ MCU series by a large margin — the other shows, such as “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” and “Wandavision,” range for six to nine episodes total. Its also significantly longer than the three Netflix “Daredevil” seasons, which were 13 episodes each....

In interviews after “Endgame’s” release, Evans stressed he was not too eager to reprise Captain America in the future. “It’s not a hard no, but it’s not an eager yes either,” Evans said on “The Graham Norton Show” back in May. “I think Cap had such a tricky act to stick the landing, and I think they did a really nice job letting him complete his journey.
