Emmy nominee Seyfried, who played Theranos founder and convicted fraudster Holmes for Hulu’s “The Dropout,” told Backstage that it was her dream to audition for “Wicked.” Despite not landing the role of Glinda, Seyfried was proud of her audition, which proved just how far her singing range has come since the days of “Les Misérables” (2012) and “Mamma Mia!” (2008). “I have dreams that I’m still auditioning for ‘Wicked,’” Seyfried said....

A zombie penis will not appear in “Army of the Dead,” but zombified animals such as a horse and a tiger will be getting screen time. As reported last month, the film’s VFX team created a zombie tiger named Valentine by using a real tiger from the sanctuary owned by the infamous “Tiger King” subject Carole Baskin. Snyder’s VFX team spent a week at Baskin’s sanctuary studying a tiger so that Valentine would act as lifelike as possible in the film....

The $50 million for “No Way Home” translated into a $260 million pre-Christmas domestic weekend, a little over five times the preview haul. The equivalent for “The Way of Water” would be under $100 million for the weekend — but there’s reason to believe the weekend total will be significantly higher. Industry projections from exhibitors and rival distributors anticipated an opening weekend somewhere around $175 million, with a chance for more....

Anyone familiar with André’s aggressive ability to push people into cringe-inducing circumstances will find plenty of that anarchic spirit on display here, usually outpacing the story around it. But it’s also given proper context: André’s devious style and wit is matched by a bumbling turn by Lil Rel Howery as his best pal, and even upstaged by a muscular Tiffany Haddish, as Howery’s sister and an escaped convict, who’s constantly on their tail....

The Warner Bros. Discovery film will be shelved indefinitely, a Warner Bros. representative confirmed to IndieWire. “Batgirl” was to star Leslie Grace (“In the Heights”) in the title role, with J.K. Simmons, Michael Keaton, and Brendan Fraser rounding out the cast. The film was originally set for an HBO Max release with reports that then Warner Bros. chair Toby Emmerich was considering a theatrical release as well. However, now “Batgirl” will not be seen at all....

Hot Streak: The last show to topple “Saturday Night Live,” which has won Best Variety Sketch Series three years running, was Comedy Central’s outgoing gem “Key & Peele” in 2016.
