Netflix announced Sunday that it has officially renewed the South Korean dystopian blockbuster, one of its most popular shows ever, for a second season. The hit series is the brainchild of Hwang Dong-hyuk, who created and produced the series, in addition to directing all nine episodes. In a statement posted on Twitter, Hwang thanked the show’s fans for continuing to support his vision. “It took 12 years to bring the first season of ‘Squid Game’ to life last year,” he wrote....

We now know one of them is going to be a spin-off based around the character of intergalactic bounty hunter and fan favorite Boba Fett. There hasn’t been much discussed about what has been dubbed “The Book of Boba Fett,” and during Disney’s investor call it wasn’t even mentioned....

While the drama unraveling on HBO’s Emmy Award-winning drama “Succession” isn’t quite on the scale of a Russian literary epic, it’s not far off. The progeny of Logan Roy (Brian Cox) are forever in conflict, both with each other and their father, jockeying for position and cutting each other off at the knees, in the hopes of landing control of the family’s global media empire (and/or a kiss from daddy.) In fact, the Roy family’s particular flavor of unhappiness might have a lot more to do with that latter point than the former, at least as far as show creator Jesse Armstrong is concerned....

The Roy family has returned, and already they’re taking up chunks of premium real estate. Aside from the profiles, prominent billboards, HBO’s coveted Sunday night timeslot, and all the other hallmarks befitting the long-awaited emergence of TV’s only good show, “Succession” Season 3 starts with its split family in flight, and ends with the top two shit-stirrers in seemingly opposite straits: Kendall (Jeremy Strong) thinks he’s sitting pretty, while Logan (Brian Cox) goes sprinting into the Sarajevan night, searching for whatever next move might save him....
