In “A Quiet Place Part II,” the Abbott family is forced to leave their farm house and face the terrors of the outside world. Venturing into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path. Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou are the new additions to the cast. “Part II” was originally set for a theatrical release on March 20, 2020....

The new film is not expected to be “A Quiet Place Part III,”, but is being described as a feature film broadening the landscape already detailed in Krasinski’s first two features, so expect a new crop of characters to be fighting the sound-based monsters. Nichols’ take on the material is based on an idea by Krasinski. Rumors of a Nichols-helmed spin-off have been chattered about for months; last November, Nichols’ involvement was first reported by Deadline....

The program, called Beyond the Screen, is a free, three-week immersive workshop that kicks of virtually on June 4. The three-session course will cover the business of production, post-production, and distribution. The goal is to allow those interested in film and TV careers to leave with a better understanding of how to naviagate their projects and careers. The program will feature Q&As with “Burning Cane” director Phillip Youmans, “Insecure” producer Deniese Davis, and Netflix post-production executive Nancy Valle....
