Puss in Boots (Banderas) has spent a lifetime performing daring deeds and laughing in the face of death. Eight lifetimes, in fact: after a particularly heroic battle, Puss finds out that he’s used up almost all of his nine lives, and only has one left. He’s not truly concerned, though, until he comes nose-to-nose with the Big Bad Wolf (Wagner Moura), a cloaked bounty hunter wielding two scythe blades who has never allowed a wanted criminal to escape....

More than a decade later, the supernatural drama (which, of course, follows the story of a time traveler and his wife) is returning, this time in the form of an HBO series starring Rose Leslie and Theo James in the roles originated by McAdams and Bana 13 years ago. Neither of the original stars is involved in this iteration. The series’ first season will feature six episodes, created by TV regular Steven Moffat (“Doctor Who”) and directed by “Game of Thrones” Emmy winner David Nutter....

In order to secure the money for their trip, they’ve taken to pulling off petty crimes around their neighborhood, starting with the hijacking of a chip truck. Harjo and Waititi concoct a show just as accessible for the TikTok generation as their parents, filled with movie references any film lover worth their salt can spot as well as a story that feels original and relatable....

Crowe’s name ended up in the headlines earlier this year when an excerpt from Scott Meslow’s book “From Hollywood with Love” was published in Vulture. The passage featured “My Best Friend’s Wedding” director P.J. Hogan describing his attempt to cast Crowe in the 1997 romantic comedy. Crowe was apparently the director’s first choice, but star Julia Roberts had veto power over casting decisions. So, per the excerpt, Crowe was brought in for a table read with Roberts, and Hogan claims it went so poorly that the role ultimately went to Dermot Mulroney....

Case in point: Destin Daniel Cretton’s charming and entertaining “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” which introduces moviegoers to the (still growing, even as the credits roll) powers of Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) as he, plus best pal Katy (Awkwafina) and estranged sister Xialing (Meng’er Zhang), grapple with the legacy of the eponymous Ten Rings, as long possessed by Shang-Chi and Xialing’s father Wenwu (Tony Leung)....

“Love Me Like You Hate Me” depicts the ups and downs of a tempestuous love affair in sexually explicit detail, with both actors fully nude and simulating(?) sex acts. The video features choreography from Los Angeles-based JA Collective, with Rainsford writing and producing the music with Cameron Hale. “Please watch it. It’s filled with love and pain and tenderness and rage and real pieces of my heart,” Rainsford said when announcing the video on her Instagram....
