Other TV-friendly options are scattered throughout the festival’s 11 categories, including “Philly D.A.,” a docuseries on civil rights attorney Larry Krasner that’s set to debut on PBS, and “Weirdo Night,” a variety show pilot from L.A. cult artist Jibz Cameron’s alter ego, Dynasty Handbag (more on this one later). But, while one gets the sense that the festival’s intrepid programmers searched far and wide for appropriate, fully produced, and independent content, the surprising takeaway is how focused the Indie Series lineup remains....

Diane Kruger, who stars in the new television remake of “Swimming with Sharks” on the Roku Channel, recently opened up about her experience filming nude scenes on the show. In an interview with Insider, Kruger said she was extremely hesitant about doing nudity. As an actress, her approach is generally to avoid nude scenes unless there is a specific artistic justification. “The motivation behind sex scenes has to be a good one....

Cate Blanchett stars as the titular Lydia Tár, an accomplished orchestra conductor. Not much has been revealed about the film’s plot and the trailer provides precious few cryptic clues. According to the official synopsis from Focus Features, “TÁR” is “set in the international world of classical music, centers on Lydia Tár, widely considered one of the greatest living composer/conductors and first-ever female chief conductor of a major German orchestra.” Given Field’s impressive track record, it seems safe to bet that “TÁR” will be a major player (or shocking disappointment) when awards season rolls around....

“The Boys” breakout actress, who plays Starlight on the hit Prime Video superhero series, revealed that some viewers seem to miss the satire of the series, which is rooted in misogyny and abuse. “I do feel silenced. I do feel dehumanized. I do feel paralyzed,” Moriarty wrote on Instagram while reposting a Medium article written by a “Boys” enthusiast with the username Butcherscanary.
