Thankfully, Martin can look to another film and TV titan IP for guidance: Marvel. “The MCU has ‘The Avengers,’ but they also have something offbeat like ‘WandaVision,’” Martin explained to The Hollywood Reporter....

The film begins with their divorced dad dropping them off at their mother’s country estate, though he stays in the car to avoid confronting her....

Ford is set to play General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in “Captain America: New World Order,” opposite Anthony Mackie as the superhero following the events of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” Disney+ series. Shira Haas, Tim Blake Nelson, and Carl Lumbly are also starring in the Phase 5 MCU film. Deadline first reported the casting. Ford’s role of General Ross is a top-ranking military official who comes to lead the team of antiheroes known as the Thunderbolts....

However, given the film’s tight focus on a specific window of time — as evidenced by its title — things quickly go off the rails. Through a series of on-scene videos, and through first-hand interviews with officers, congresspeople, journalists, aides, and Proud Boys, director-producer-cinematographer Jamie Roberts strings together a coherent timeline of the way the storm unfolded — though for anyone unfamiliar with what a “Proud Boy” is, the film doesn’t bother explaining....

The study charts an increase in leading and/or co-leading characters from underrepresented racial/ethnic groups, from 27 films in 2018 to 32 films in 2019. Seventeen movies featured a girl or woman from an underrepresented group as a lead or co-lead character in 2019 compared to just 11 in 2018, 4 in 2017 and 1 in 2007....

“Honeyland,” directed by Tamara Kotevska and Ljubomir Stefanov, is set in Macedonia and follows the life of the region’s last nomadic beekeeper Hatidže Muratova, Much of the film tracks the tension that develops between Muratova and Hussein Sam, a more industrial beekeeper whose methods for collecting honey stand in opposition to Muratova’s beliefs and threaten her livelihood living in the poor village of Bekirlija. “Honeyland” world premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, where it won three prizes (including the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize for Documentary), and it entered the Oscars history book earlier this year with nominations for both Best Documentary and Best International Feature Film....
