Much has been made of the fact that the latest season of “Stranger Things” helped bring Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” back to the top of the charts as new fans discovered the song. But if the Duffer brothers hadn’t made the fateful decision to use her music, Taika Waititi would have found a way to incorporate it into his Marvel sequel. In a new interview with NME, Waititi was asked about the Netflix series’ use of Bush’s music, and he quickly interjected with his own blunt opinion on the saga....

The six-episode HBO series, premiering in May 2022, stars James as Henry DeTamble, a man plagued with the ability to go back in time. While it is a metaphysical scientific breakthrough, the skill doesn’t bode well for Henry’s marriage to Clare Abshire (Rose Leslie), who is left for a quite literally absentee husband at times. “He’s just a pile of clothes,” Clare explains during a confessional after Henry has disappeared back in time, out of his own control and leaving the kitchen sink running....

The original “Your Name” was shortlisted for the 2017 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, and while it didn’t land among the final five nominees, the film was a huge success in Japan and worldwide, grossing more than $350 million in total. The animated film tells the story of a high school boy living in Tokyo, and a high school girl living in a rural town, who become inexplicably linked and begin to swap bodies....

The actor, largely known for comedies, just nabbed his first Emmy nomination for portraying Mark S. in “Severance,” Apple TV+’s disquieting drama from creator Dan Erickson. The show picked up a total of 14 nominations, from acting to recognition for production design, casting, directing, editing, title design, and music composition. “I’m still sort of absorbing it, the shock of it,” Scott told IndieWire over the phone less than two hours after nominations were announced....

The subject of “Dear Comrades!” stretches across the decades: On June 2, 1962, Soviet soldiers opened fire on workers in the city of Novocherkassk who were protesting for better living conditions and lower food prices. The Novocherkassk massacre ended with 26 people dead and buried in secret by KGB officials; it wasn’t until a 1992 investigation that the full scope of the violence came to light. Director Andrei Konchalovsky doesn’t need to follow the story that far....

“He auditioned everyone,” said Kruger, who is currently promoting her new action thriller “The 355.” “He didn’t want to audition me because he saw a movie that I was in he didn’t like. So he didn’t believe in me from the get-go.
