That it took 25 years for Warner Bros. to cook up a sequel is perhaps the only surprising wrinkle in an otherwise depressing tale about what the stewards of classic characters really think about the value of art in a content-mad world. Some of that waiting time between films has to be owed to the necessity of casting a new star on par with Michael Jordan to lead it, and Warner Bros....
So apparently the final frontier of the 32nd Century is just… like the frontier of the Old West? It sure felt that way in the relatively banal second episode, “Far From Home.” Whereas the Season 3 premiere of “Star Trek: Discovery” was expansive and eye-opening, this one relied on well-worn tropes. How funny that, when all was said and done, neither Saru (Doug Jones) nor Tilly (Mary Wiseman) really even asked much about what exactly brought about the relatively lawless environment they found themselves in....

“Willow” is a TV spinoff of the 1988 fantasy classic directed by Ron Howard. Garcia will play a queen and mother to Tony Revolori’s character, who participates in a quest to rescue a prince at the order of his twin sister princess. Per the report, Garcia’s role is a small speaking part and may only appear in one episode. “Willow” is a Lucasfilm production. Garcia’s casting reportedly makes history with her portraying a cis character in a Disney-owned project....
The original “That ’70s Show,” which ran from 1998 to 2006, revolved around a group of six teenagers living in Point Place, Wisconsin during the late ’70s. The sequel series focuses on Leia (Callie Haverda), the daughter of original series leads Eric (Topher Grace) and Donna (Laura Prepon), who decides to spend the summer of 1995 in Point Place with her grandparents, Red (Kurtwood Smith) and Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) from the original series....
Season 1 of “The Crown” drew 17.57 million hours viewed for the week of September 5-11, according to Netflix, good enough for seventh place. That viewership tally pretty much just counts Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. (There would definitely have been some natural — albeit very late — sampling of the first season on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, though it is safe the assume the lion’s share came during the early mourning period....
