I know that Derek (Kolstad, who wrote ‘Nobody’) has begun work on the sequel,” Naishuller told JoBlo. There’s been no official word on a “Nobody” sequel, but the film’s fans have reason to be optimistic, given the original film’s critical and commercial success. IndieWire’s Eric Kohn praised the film’s action sequences and humor in his grade B review in March....

The high-energy monologue makes for excellent trailer material, cluing the audience into not only the Haywoods’ rich Hollywood background but Emerald’s outsized, quite chatty personality. It’s also the same way we meet Emerald in the film, as she comes sweeping into a movie shoot, eager to turn a run-of-the-mill safety meeting (that her brother, the far more taciturn OJ, played by Peele regular Daniel Kaluuya, can barely get through) into an eye-popping, fast-talking introduction of the highest order....

Netflix scored a nomination with Sophia Nahli Allison’s powerful “A Love Song for Latasha,” a lyrical ode to Latasha Harlins, a 15-year-old girl from South Central Los Angeles whose 1991 shooting death became a flashpoint in the LA uprisings. The 19-minute film, which screened as part of Ava DuVernay’s ARRAY 360 programming, is bursting with sun-kissed sidewalks and faded basketball courts, clean line animation and radiant Black girls posed gracefully, like young queens....

Conversations continue. Hypothetical scenarios are played out. The allure of greater purpose, financial security, and just a hint of danger — the kind of danger two well-off suburbanites think they can manage — builds until Marty and Wendy relent. But the second they officially say yes, the illusion of control so carefully invited by Del’s gentle nudging is eradicated, as Marty watches the former bookkeeper get his eyes cut out, dropped in a glass, and placed on the bar next to him....
