Peacock announced a straight-to-series order for “The Missing” on Monday. Kelley will serve as showrunner, writer, and executive producer on the eight-episode series, which is based on the international bestselling novel “The Missing File,” the first in a series of books written by Israeli crime writer Dror A. Mishani. The news is the latest in a string of announcements that reinforce the idea that Peacock is becoming a streaming hub for crime programming from a variety of creators....

Upcoming Netflix action-comedy “Day Shift” stars Foxx as Bud Jablonski, a father trying to navigate the rising cost of living in Los Angeles by taking on a job as a vampire exterminator. Dogg plays Bud’s friend Big John Elliott who is trying to lure Army vet Bud back to the slayers union. Megan Good and Zion Boadnax also star as Bud’s wife and daughter. Karla Souza plays a powerful bloodsucker known as Audrey San Fernando, the valley’s most powerful real estate agent who is pushing the surrounding communities to gentrify aka become home to vampires only....

Not only is “Mugen Train” the offshoot of an action-packed manga and anime series with a complex lore and an arcane set of rules, it’s also a direct sequel to the show’s 26-episode first season (now streaming on Netflix). This movie is meant to serve as a bridge for the second season — common practice in the anime world, lest anyone think that Marvel and Disney+ invented cross-media homework. Worldwide, “Demon Slayer” fans have been perfectly happy to generate $435 million in box office for the chance to check in on their favorite characters, and it would seem as if most feel they got their money’s worth....

The first trailer from 2022 Comic Con unveils the fantasy world behind “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.” The Paramount Pictures and eOne production premieres March 3, 2023 in theaters. The novel, set in the United States in the year 2025, previously inspired a 1987 sci-fi film, also called “The Running Man,” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and directed by Paul Michael Glaser. King’s novel is set in a totalitarian, violent, economically depressed world where protagonists participate in a game show called “The Running Man.” Contestants are allowed to go anywhere in the world, but are chased by Hunters assigned to kill them....
