Paramount Pictures announced that the new edit, titled “Mario Puzo’s The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone,” achieves director-screenwriter Coppola and screenwriter (Mario) Puzo’s original vision for the finale. The re-cut has been billed as a celebration of the original film’s 30th anniversary. While the first two “Godfather” movies are widely considered to be among the greatest films in cinema history, “Part III” did not enjoy a strong critical reception....

By no means will this review “retell” the nine episodes that make up Mike Flanagan’s next entry in his “Haunting” anthology series — you will find no spoilers here — but it does aim to emphasize what kind of story is being told. Framing, especially when it comes to sequels, is critical to how they’re received. Look no further than Flanagan’s own box office dud “Doctor Sleep,” which played as a follow-up to Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining” even as it hewed closer to succeeding Stephen King’s novel....

It’s a nifty little sequence, featuring presumed shout-outs to the show’s lengthy development cycle (remember when Stewart’s next show was animated and headed for HBO?) as well as guesses as to how the comedic news host’s return to TV may be perceived. But rarely is a debut hour of TV so upfront about its most prominent hang-up: “The Problem with Jon Stewart” is having an identity crisis. Unsure of its place in a vast news world and reluctant to lean into its host’s established strengths, the early problem with “The Problem” is that it doesn’t know what it is yet, even after Stewart’s six-year departure from desk duty....

“The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical” began as a viral TikTok project, with Barlow and Bear writing songs for an imaginary Broadway musical based on the show. They soon compiled those songs into “The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical Album,” which rose to the top of the iTunes charts and won a Grammy for Best Musical Theatre Album. More recently, they mounted the musical as a full stage production which reportedly uses dialogue lifted directly from the show....

For better or worse, Burger knows it doesn’t have to. The middling but enjoyable “Voyagers” is meant to be a timeless parable about the primitive essence of human nature; if its space-age shenanigans are broadly identical to the beats of a book William Golding wrote about a group of preadolescent boys who crash on a deserted island during World War II, that’s more of a feature than it is a bug....

So far, there’s plenty of euphoric praise for the Marvel Cinematic Universe spinoff, which centers on Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) as they try to live out an idealized suburban life in the small town of Westview, where the residents don’t know about their powers. But the border between reality and illusion stars to blur for the pair in this series created by Jac Schaeffer, based on the Scarlet Witch character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby....

“Working on ‘Dr. Strange’ immediately after, I just feel like my instincts are right,” Olsen said about coming off “WandaVision.” “It feels the way you want to feel all the time, which is kind of hard when you have such little screen time and everything that’s happening not on the page is in your head and not in the writer’s head.” Olsen’s confidence extends to having more creative control over all things Scarlet Witch, including that ever-changing accent that has often been criticized, mocked, and discussed on social media....
