Berlinale tweeted a video of the famed auteur discussing his retrospective exhibition as part of the festival’s Sentiments, Signes, Passions, curated by Fabrice Aragno in collaboration with Godard. The exhibition screens Godard’s 2018 “Le livre d’image” as a “living projection” on 40 screens. “What I would like is what I told you, is that in Berlin, since there are often wild boars in the city of Berlin, a feeder for wild boars should be placed under the screens,” Godard said....

Which is why the 2020 Outfest Film Festival is more exciting than ever, with drive-ins, a streaming platform, and plenty of world premieres. In this year’s lineup, 70 percent of the films are directed by women or filmmakers of color. Beginning August 20 and lasting for 11 days, the films will be available to stream via Vimeo’s OTT platform. In addition, the festival will host six nights of drive-in screenings at “Outfest LA Under the Stars,” which takes place at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu....

Amy Schumer, returning to television for the first time since Comedy Central’s shrewd “Inside Amy Schumer” finished in 2016, plays Beth, a wine rep with a talent for puffery. But the 10-episode Hulu series picks up on the day her ennui spills over into her sales pitch. Beth has a boyfriend she doesn’t love, a career that doesn’t suit her interests, and a Manhattan address that looks better on other people’s wedding invitations than it feels to go home to....

“The movie is very tragic,” Guadagnino told Fantastic Man. “People think it’s very romantic, but I think it’s tragic. The honesty of Elio (Chalamet) is crushed by the dishonesty of Oliver (Hammer), and when Elio cries, he cries over the fact he’s being stabbed to death by Oliver’s lies, which happens to us every day in relation­ships.” Guadagnino added, “It’s not a romantic movie or a vanilla version of gay love, and to read the movie in that way is a bit silly....
