Anthony begins with a striking visual metaphor, reveling in the blind spot of the optic nerve, and setting the stage for an investigation into how little we see about the way the world looks back at us. The ensuing chapter-based saga careens from a warehouse that develops tasers and police body cameras, to training sessions for officers who wear the devices, the machinations of a spy plane entrepreneur, and the history of camera pigeons in WWI....

The documentary, from filmmakers Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering, aims to offer a deep-dive into the the accusation of sexual abuse against Woody Allen involving Dylan, his then seven-year-old daughter with Mia Farrow; their subsequent custody trial, the revelation of Allen’s relationship with Farrow’s daughter, Soon-Yi; and the controversial aftermath in the years that followed. Though Allen has never been charged with a crime despite multiple investigations, the scandal has persisted as one of Hollywood’s most public controversies....

I vote in the publicists branch. I’m also a producer. I live out of town. I subscribe to Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, get Deadline, and [Los Angeles Times award supplement] The Envelope. It’s built up over the years. The Oscars have developed into something beyond what I grew up with. Complaints people make about Oscars and nominations is that now everything is so promoted, so deliberate and expensive. It gets away from the purpose of what the whole thing is with awards....

Still untitled and lacking in any plot details, David O. Russell’s first film since 2015’s “Joy” is based on his own original idea, with filming currently underway in California. New Regency’s Arnon Milchan is set to produce with Matthew Budman and Anthony Katagas. This is quite a cast for Russell, whose many Oscar-nominated films are known for their big ensembles. He personally has five Oscar nominations under his belt, including two in 2014 for Best Directing for “American Hustle” and Best Original Screenplay, shared with Eric Warren Singer for that film; Best Director for “Silver Linings Playbook” in 2013 and Best Adapted Screenplay; and Best Director for “The Fighter” in 2011....

And finally, newly-minted “Fast and Furious” star Jason Momoa returns as Aquaman this December in the sequel “Aquaman and the Last Kingdom....

“Taking this on was intimidating but we had a yearning to do something different,” showrunner Christian Linke told IndieWire. He created the series with fellow Riot vet and executive producer Alex Yee. “We figured out what made the game and characters so popular and then made the series for ourselves.” The secret of their success was building the dystopian series around the rivalry between badass sisters Jinx (Ella Purnell) and Vi (Hailee Steinfeld), who are part of a war between the affluent city of Piltover and the oppressed underground city of Zaun....
