Patrick Stewart’s Jean-Luc Picard is flying into the sunset at warp speed with “Star Trek: Picard” Season 3, a last hurrah for him and the “Next Generation” cast that’s intended to bring his story to a close. And now, out of New York Comic-Con, there’s the first full trailer detailing what fans can expect. Watch it below. Season 3 is going to be a largely starship-set adventure reminiscent of the tone and feel of “Next Generation” in addition to bringing back cast members LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, and Gates McFadden, as well as Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis, who had already appeared in Season 1....

The 2023 festival also will not host its digital social space or the online venue known as The Spaceship, where badgeholders can interact as avatars and watch showcased works. As the festival prepares to hold its first in-person edition in two years, New Frontier was never part of those in-person plans. Instead, the festival planned it as an exclusively virtual event and has been accepting submissions for months. In October, artists who submitted projects received a notice from New Frontier chief curator Shari Frilot informing them that they would be reimbursed for submission fees....

The global pop star and Ticketmaster disruptor has revealed that she will make her feature directorial debut Searchlight Pictures, from an original script she has penned. More details about what that film will be about will be released later on. The news also comes on the heels of Variety tapping Swift to appear alongside “Banshees of Inisherin” director Martin McDonagh in the publication’s Directors on Directors series. Swift has long been vocal about her aspirations to direct a full-length movie....

“The Boys” co-creator told Vulture that while some comic book streaming adaptations (cough cough, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” and “Obi-Wan Kenobi”) have been described as long movies, it dilutes the art of episodic TV — and stalls the storytelling.
