The precise plot of “Last Night in Soho,” written by Wright with Oscar-nominated “1917” and “Penny Dreadful” scribe Krysty Wilson-Cairns, remains a riddle wrapped in a mystery, but there’s definitely a time-travel conceit happening in this surely twisted movie co-starring Thomasin McKenzie, Matt Smith, and Terrence Stamp. Empire back in 2019 wrote that “much of Wright’s movie takes place in the London of the Swinging Sixties; a time period with which his lead character, Thomasin McKenzie’s Eloise, is obsessed and, through a mysterious connection with Taylor-Joy’s character, gets to experience....

“Loot” makes its start far away from that odd bunch at first, nestled comfily in the world of 0.00001%er soirees. Our entree into that stratus is Molly (Maya Rudolph), the wife of Bezosian tech overlord John (Adam Scott) whose life reflects the fortune he’s gained. After Molly discovers her husband’s affair and their marriage dissolves, she takes her assistant Nicholas (Joel Kim Booster) and her 11-figure half of the family funds and heads elsewhere....

The Russos, whose upcoming addiction drama “Cherry,” starring Tom Holland, is now in the awards mix courtesy of Apple TV+, will also produce “The Electric State” via their evolving AGBO banner. “Electric State” will be penned by AGBO writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the scribes who previously teamed up with the Russos on films like “Captain America: Winter Soldier,” “Captain America: Civil War,” and “Avengers: Infinity War” and Avengers: Endgame,” all of which the brothers directed....
