Young and hungry, Stella isn’t here for your bullshit, but she still faces a never-ending stream of it: Her boss won’t listen to her ideas, her coworkers don’t trust her and, oh yeah, the anchor whose co-host and best friend turned out to be a sexual predator is being brought back to the very office she abandoned nine months prior. Alex’s return isn’t Stella’s idea — she doesn’t see the logic in courting a former star who represents the old regime rather than embracing new voices on the company’s biggest news platform....

“The Office” has called Netflix its streaming home for the last several years, but it was announced in summer 2019 that the sitcom would be leaving Netflix at the end of 2020. Moving “The Office” from Netflix to Peacock is a big blow to the former, where “The Office” has long ranked as one of the platform’s most popular titles. A Wall Street Journal report in 2019 claimed Netflix users spend more time streaming “The Office” than any other show on the streaming platform....

Here’s the official synopsis: “‘There is No Evil’ is an anthology feature comprised of four stories of men who are each put in front of an unthinkable but simple choice — to follow orders to enforce the death penalty upon others, or not. Whatever they decide, it will directly or indirectly corrode themselves, their relationships, and their entire lives. The humanistic stories offer insight into crucial themes of moral strength and the harshness of the death penalty under an oppressive regime....

Calling this season a docuseries is a stretch, as the five episodes feel like a hodgepodge of ideas in search of a story to tell. Joe Exotic, once the focal point of the show, is now merely a tangential connection for the series to hang its hat on. With Mr. Exotic now in jail, the first episode follows Eric Love, a man so convinced the tiger impresario would be pardoned by then-President Donald Trump he had a limo waiting for Exotic at the prison....

Much like her character in the Tom Cruise-starring blockbuster, Naval aviator Lieutenant Natasha “Phoenix” Trace, Barbaro is one of the few women in a testosterone-heavy environment, but her gender isn’t the focus of the story. It’s about how a highly skilled group of young pilots — one of whom happens to be a woman — band together for a wild mission that hinges on their intelligence, skill, and daring. For dancer-turned-actor Barbaro, “Top Gun: Maverick” was a wild dream come true, complete with a part she was encouraged to make her own, the kind of training she lives for, and the chance to (quite literally) turn the tables on her very amped up male co-stars....

It’s been a long two years since audiences ran away from the American remake of “Force Majeure” like it was a killer avalanche cascading towards their families, so perhaps Ruben Östlund — the rascally Swedish filmmaker whose other features include “Play” and 2017’s Cannes-winning, take-no-prisoners caricature of the art world, “The Square” — has just forgotten that other people are perfectly capable of making toothless, watered-down versions of Ruben Östlund movies....

Which is why, in these closing days before the next presidential election, we need to think about which candidate serves as the best option to further the country’s interests and investment in both arts creation and education, the better to stoke the fires of American creativity that have historically burned so brightly. And listen, if this is the first thought you’ve given to the cultural implications of the upcoming election, I can’t blame you....
