And yet, wherever it came from, the best movie music of 2020 arrived like a vital, wordless diary of how it felt to live through the last 12 months — or at least to survive them. Even when they were reduced to mere background noise, some of the year’s standout scores pulsed with inescapable anxiety, others spoke to a purgatorial sense of longing, and a small handful even offered a much-needed respite from the world around them....
Cinematographer Carl Herse spoke with IndieWire about creating a progression for the seven looks of the show with series creator/director Chris Miller, before uniting them in Episode 8. “We want it to all feel different, but you also want to feel like a progression,” Herse said. “We go from wider aspect ratios at the beginning of the season to taller aspect ratios by the end. The venue’s application and intention of adding more food offerings were previously known, but new details have emerged of its possible rebranding as the Cinerama Hollywood. Decurion Corporation, previously the parent company for Arclight and Pacific Theaters, remains the owner. The reopening is still a work in progress.
