Leading the fray are the DGA nominees: Kenneth Branagh’s Toronto audience award-winner “Belfast,” Paul Thomas Anderson’s ’70s California valentine “Licorice Pizza,” Steven Spielberg’s musical remake “West Side Story,” and Denis Villeneuve’s space epic “Dune,” which are all three for four, and show support from the crafts as well, as does PGA nominee Jane Campion’s neo-western “The Power of the Dog” (which was not eligible for the WGA), and nabbed three SAG nominations, but not ensemble....

A decade after Will Smith shut down rumors of a second installment, the Oscar nominee officially signed on to “I Am Legend 2” — thanks to co-star Michael B. Jordan’s story concept. “It was one of those ones I was gonna leave alone, and then I heard the idea,” Smith told Entertainment Tonight. “That might work. I think we can do that.” Smith teased that while the plot is still under wraps, “it’s a really, really cool concept,” and Jordan was “part of creating the idea....

Upon the announcement of this year’s nominees, it was revealed that HBO’s “Succession” had swept the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Dramatic Series category, garnering mentions for five distinct episodes and directors, including Kevin Bray (“Retired Janitors of Idaho”), Mark Mylod (“All the Bells Say”), Andrij Parekh (“What It Takes”), Robert Pulcini and Shari Springer Berman (“Lion in the Meadow”), and Lorene Scafaria (“Too Much Birthday”). This wasn’t the first time the category has seen such dominance....
