Nadav Lapid’s 2021 Cannes Jury Prize–winning film “Ahed’s Knee” oscillates to a different rhythm in a heart-pounding trailer, as IndieWire can exclusively premiere. “Ahed’s Knee” centers on Y. (Avshalom Pollak), an Israeli filmmaker who travels to a remote village to present one of his films. He soon meets Ministry of Culture officer, Yahalom (Nur Fibak), who calls into question his life’s purpose. Per a synopsis, Y. finds himself “fighting two losing battles: one against the death of freedom in his country, the other against the death of his mother,” with whom he co-wrote his films....

Titled “Cross,” the series follows Alex Cross, a detective and forensic psychologist reeling from the murder of his wife, as he takes on cases while juggling his relationship with his children. Aldis Hodge will star in the series as Cross, in addition to producing. The news broke on the same day word came out that Showtime canceled his drama series “City on a Hill,” co-starring Kevin Bacon, after three seasons. The “City on a Hill” cancellation actually predated the “Cross” news by a few months, a person with knowledge of the cancellation decision told IndieWire, but Showtime had been able to keep it under wraps until now....

The actress has spent the past few weeks fanning rumors about a potential “Community” movie, but that isn’t the only cancelled series she’s been forced to mourn. Her first full-fledged leading role on TV came on “GLOW,” Netflix’s 1980s women’s wrestling dramedy that was renewed for a fourth and final season in 2019 before being abruptly cancelled in 2020. But the show’s fan base continues to grow, to the point where “GLOW” finally appears to be given the respect that critics always had for it....

Voeten noted that the eponymous prequel film “Furiosa” will embrace more traditional storytelling. The film stars Anya Taylor-Joy in the titular role and is set to be released in theaters in 2024. Chris Hemsworth and Tom Burke co-star alongside Taylor-Joy. “‘Furiosa’ is more of a traditional three-act drama.
